Wat Chayamangkalaram is a Thai Buddhist temple , it is also known as Sleeping Buddha by the locals. This temple was built in 1845 at a five-acre land donated by Queen Victoria to the Thai Communities in Penang.
It is one of the largest Reclining Buddha statues in the world. Spectacular to behold, the statue is completely gold-plated and measures 33 meters in length. Behind the statues are countless niches.
The water festival or Songkran is a traditional Thai festival that is also celebrates in Wat Chayamangkalaran.
