The Bridge is the vital link connecting Penang Island and the mainland of West Malaysia.
The First Penang Bridge build in year 1982 and open for public on 14 September 1985. The Bridge total length is 13.5km connecting Gelugor on the island and Seberang Prai. The toll rate is RM 7 for car.
The Second Penang Bridge is another bridge linking to the mainland. It is named Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah linking the town of Batu Maung on the island and Batu Kawan on the mainland. The total length is 24 km with length over water at 16.9km.
It is the longest bridge in Malaysia and the longest in Southeast Asia.
The bridge build in year 2008 and finished on February 2014. Opened to public on 2 Mac 2014. The toll rate is RM8.50 for car.
