The 9th day of Chinese New Year also known as Hokkien New Year or Ti Gong Seh (Jade Emperor god’s Birthday).
Penang has the most people celebrated this festival, especially at Chew Jetty. The residents set up a long table on the road to put the food, fruits, sugarcane stalks or roasted pig on table to be serve to the Jade Emperor God.
The ceremony falls on the 8th day of Chinese New Year from 11pm through the midnight.
