Every Thursday and Sunday throughout the month of August, George Town Festival – with the support of the Asian Film Archive – will host a free, outdoor screening of ASEAN’s most beloved classic cinema. The films in the ASEAN Classics such as Bawang Puteh Bawang Merah, Canh Dong Hoang (Wildfire) an award-winning Vietnamese film and more.
These cinema classics, each of which vividly paint a portrait of ASEAN’s diverse past, have become cultural icons, and will be sure to appeal to both film enthusiasts and curious festival goers.
