A heritage building at No 57 Macalister Road has been turned into a branch of the Penang state Museum at the end of year 2011.

Dewan Sri Pinang is a multi-purpose auditorium which built in early 1970’s. This auditorium accommodated over 1000 people for various events each year, like orchestras, concerts, art exhibition and festival.
During this a month –long George Town Festival, Dewan Sri Pinang becomes a main venue for exhibition and performance.

The Penang art gallery was officially opened in 1964. It was originally housed in the State Museum building, and then moved to Dewan Sri Pinang since 1994.
It is divided into two sections; level 3 is gallery for the permanent collection including paintings, sculptures photographs, ceramics, prints and several other media. Ground floor is for contemporary art gallery. Read More…
